“Our P1,000 bill that shows the faces of our heroes and martyrs will not be demonetized,” ang pahayag ni acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles sa isang press briefing.

“This new design with polymer material is only for test circulation,” ang dagdag niya.

“The test circulation will be done to validate if the polymer material is environment friendly, more hygienic considering we are still facing a pandemic, or if it is more secure,” ang sinabi ng presidential spokesperson.

“The new design for banknotes is cyclical and is done in validating advantages of the polymer material, with the assurance that the existing P1,000 bill with the faces of our heroes will not be demonetized,” ang dagdag niya.

“While it is not wrong to feature Philippine flora and fauna in our banknotes, but, it should not be at the expense of removing totally our heroes who stood and fought for our rights and liberty,” ang sinabi ni Zarate.

“It is bad enough that the BSP misspelled the scientific name of the Philippine eagle, but, it is even worse that it erased very important historical figures from the new banknotes, in effect also denigrating their historical contribution in the defense of our freedoms and the fight against foreign aggression,” ang pahayag ni Zarate.
